Lake Highlands Varsity Cheerleaders recently attended the National Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp on the campus of SMU.

Over 1,000 cheerleaders from surrounding areas participated at the cheer camp learning, practicing, and performing the latest stunts, dance choreography, and new cheers and chants. The squad received the following awards: 2 Excellent Ribbons, 6 Superior Ribbons, 15 All American Cheerleader Nominations, and 2 Spirit Sticks. Mascot, Bonner Voss, was selected as the Top Mascot at camp. Seven Varsity Cheerleaders, two JV Cheerleaders, and the Mascot were chosen as All American Cheerleaders. For the Camp Championships, the Varsity squad wowed the crowd with a routine that included advanced tumbling and stunting. At the closing ceremonies, they received the coveted award of Top Team in the Performance category. They also received a bid to NCA Nationals. Join us in congratulating them.
