Show your Patriotism by making our LH Heroes smile during the holidays. The LH Exchange Club is assembling Care Packages for our soldiers and want to encourage school age children to write letters/notes/postcards/crayon colored pictures, etc. to be included in the boxes.
On Sat., November 29th at 9:00 am, the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands will be assembling LH Overseas Soldier Care Packages at The Knights Of Columbus. Members of the Exchange Club have already collected items (from within the club) that will be packed in Military Flat Rate Boxes and will then be mailed to each Lake Highlands Graduate who is serving overseas. All of these LH Soldiers will receive these Care Packages just prior to Christmas.
Note: we are not asking the LH Community to donate items to the packages. There are more than enough items already collected.
On that morning (Sat., November 29 @ 9:00 am-10 am). there will be an area for children to write notes and/or color pictures to include in the boxes; Santa will be there, too!!. There will be candy canes, hot chocolate and hot apple cider..and Christmas music. The kids can write a note while they are there Or they can simply write the notes at home and then drop them off at Knights Of Columbus on that morning. For the kids who will be out of town (unable to attend) but who still want to write a letter; they can drop the letters in the Designated Military Box on the front porch of John Dean or Sam Finklea anytime prior to the date.
John Dean's Address is 7319 Hundley Blvd. (Off Walnut Hill Ln.)
Sam Finklea's Address is 9719 Larchcrest Dr. (street between Estate Ln. and Walnut Hill).
Tell your friends about this worthy endeavour!
